Angela Evelyn Bassett, an American actress is well known for her performance in films and on television since the mid 1980s. The actress has won numerous accolades including two Golden Globe Awards, and 16 NAACP Image Awards. In the film and television business, she is famous for her awards and nominations. Bassett grew up living in Winston-Salem North Carolina, raised by an aunt and Uncle in New York New York. Bassett, her mother and sister were moved from the city of Winston-Salem to St. Petersburg Florida when Bassett was just five. Their father separated from their mom. Bassett was in high school and watched John Steinbeck's stage play Of Mice and Men with James Earl Jones and she made the decision to pursue acting. Yale University New Haven Connecticut gave her a bachelor's degree (1980) which was in African American study, and a graduate degree (1983) at the Yale School of Drama. She was married in 1997. got married to Courtney B. Vance who was also an actor. Qualification: B.A. graduated from the Yale School of Drama School with a master's degree on African American studies in 1980.
